Privacy policy

What this website collects, what it does not, and who else is involved when you email us, book a call, or subscribe to the Boardroom Brief.

Effective 11 September 2026

At a glance

LION Specialty LLC is a specialty insurance brokerage. This website is deliberately simple: no visitor accounts, no forms, no analytics, no advertising trackers.

We collect only what it takes to run and secure the site, reply when you contact us, hold a call you book, send the Brief when you subscribe, and meet our legal and professional duties.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Who we are and how to reach us

LION Specialty LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company registered to do business in Colorado. In this policy, "LION", "we", "us" and "our" mean LION Specialty LLC.

Privacy questions and requests go to info@lionspecialty.com.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the public LION Specialty website and the personal information we receive when you email us, book a call through our scheduling provider, or subscribe to the Boardroom Brief.

Calendly and Kit run on their own websites under their own privacy notices. This policy explains what we receive from them and how we use it. It does not replace their notices.

What we collect

Website and device information. The providers that host, deliver and secure the site process standard technical information for each request:

  • IP address.
  • Browser type and device information.
  • The pages or files requested.
  • The date and time of the request.

The site is hosted by Webflow, which may set one strictly necessary security cookie through its delivery infrastructure. We do not use that cookie for advertising, cross-site tracking or profiling. Fonts, the stylesheet and the script load from jsDelivr, a content delivery network, which receives your IP address in order to serve those files.

We run no analytics or advertising tools on this site, and nothing on it is set up to follow you across other websites.

What you send us. If you email us, we receive your message, your email address and any attachments. Email is received through Microsoft 365.

If you send a policy or related document for a free assessment, we use it for that assessment and, if you engage us, to do the work. We do not submit it to insurance markets, contact your current broker, or disclose it outside LION without your authorization, except where the law requires or permits disclosure.

Bookings. Calls are booked through Calendly on Calendly's website. Calendly collects your name, email address, the time you choose and anything else you enter in its booking flow, and passes the booking details to us so we can hold the slot and send an invitation.

Boardroom Brief subscriptions. Signing up happens on Kit's website. Kit receives the email address and anything else you enter in its subscription flow. We use your email address to send the Brief and administer the list. Every edition carries an unsubscribe link.

How we use it

  • To run, secure, troubleshoot and maintain the website.
  • To reply to messages, questions and requests.
  • To assess insurance materials you choose to send and to deliver brokerage services.
  • To schedule calls you book.
  • To send the Brief to subscribers and honor unsubscribe requests.
  • To keep records and meet legal, regulatory, insurance-licensing, professional, security and compliance obligations.
  • To protect our rights, our clients, our systems and our business.

We do not use personal information for targeted advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not make automated decisions about individuals that carry legal or similarly significant effects.

Who else sees it

We share information only as far as the uses above require.

  • Webflow and its delivery and security infrastructure: technical request information, to host, deliver and secure the site.
  • jsDelivr: the technical information needed to deliver site files, including your IP address.
  • Microsoft 365: the emails and attachments you send us, to receive, store and answer them.
  • Calendly: the booking details you provide, to schedule the call and send an invitation.
  • Kit: your email address and subscription details, to send and administer the Brief.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement or courts, where a legal duty, a claim, or the protection of rights and safety requires it: the information relevant to that request.

Service providers handle information under their own terms and privacy notices and, where they exist, their agreements with us.

How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above: to do the work, answer inquiries, maintain business records, and meet legal, regulatory, insurance-licensing, tax, accounting and record-keeping duties.

How long depends on what the information is and the relationship it belongs to. An unanswered inquiry is kept for less time than a client file that insurance record-keeping rules apply to. When information is no longer needed we delete it or strip it of anything that identifies you, unless we are required or permitted to keep it, for example for legal claims, audits, fraud prevention or record-keeping.

Your choices and requests

Email info@lionspecialty.com to:

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you.
  • Ask to see it, correct it, or have it deleted, where that applies.
  • Ask a question or raise a concern about how we handle personal information.

We may take reasonable steps to confirm who you are before we act. We will reply within a reasonable period, and if we cannot do what you ask because of a legal duty, another person's rights, a security concern or a valid reason to keep a record, we will say so.

To stop the Brief, use the unsubscribe link in any edition, or email us and we will remove you.

No sale, no targeted advertising, no profiling

LION does not sell personal information. LION does not process personal information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. LION does not profile individuals to make decisions that carry legal or similarly significant effects.

Because we do none of these things, this site carries no "Do Not Sell or Share" link and no advertising opt-out. If that ever changes, this policy changes first, and any required choice mechanism goes live before the practice does.

Children

This site and our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email info@lionspecialty.com and we will remove it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No transmission over the internet, storage system or control is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If the website, our services, our practices or our legal duties change, this policy changes with them. The updated version is posted here with a new effective date. Where the law requires notice of a material change, we give it.
